The Cardboard Project

Completed December 2023

Designed, modeled, and built a full-size cardboard bed for disaster relief shelters using Fusion360, tested it to support over 1,000 lbs, and presented the project with full documentation to engineering faculty.

What I Built

  • Designed and created full-size cardboard bed in first-year engineering class for use in disaster relief shelters
  • Used Fusion360 to model bed and its parts and used design to cut out and assemble cardboard bed
  • Tested bed’s safety capabilities, finding its capacity to be over 1,000 lbs of distributed weight
  • Presented finished product to engineering professors and documented process with InDesign
